Propagating Philodendron Gigas

  1. Select a healthy stem with at least one node (the small bump where a leaf attaches to the stem) and a few leaves.
  2. Use clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears to make a cut just below the node.
  3. Place the cutting in water in a propagation station, ensuring the node is submerged. Keep it in a warm spot with bright, indirect light.
  4. After a few weeks, roots should begin to form. Once the roots are about two inches long, you can transfer the cutting to a pot with well-draining soil.
