My name is Cathy and I absolutely love plants of all kinds!
Just Plant Crazy – A little about me – I fell in love with gardening by the time I could walk and started helping my Dad in his greenhouse. We started enough vegetable plants in that tiny greenhouse for not only our own garden but the whole neighborhood. My Dad was the gardener in our family and we always had a house full of African Violets. Dad learned all about growing African Violets from his Mother, my Grandmother who had the most beautiful African Violets. Dad also had beautiful flower beds full of snapdragons, dusty millers and striped petunias, which is why to this day I always buy a striped petunia plant when I see it!
A little more about me – Through the Years my love of Gardening of all kinds has grown and changed multiple times!
When I was in my 30’s I took a master gardening class and began experimenting with outdoor gardens. We had just moved into a new house with no plants at all! Over the next few years I created multiple flower beds and even added two koi ponds. A few years later I was asked to be on our city’s annual garden walk. They only chose 5 gardens each year and over one weekend I had over 300 people walk through my gardens. To say I was both shocked and honored I was chosen is a understatement!
Now in my 60s and we live the condo life so I have multiple African Violets, pathos, spider plant, succulents, plumeria, Norwegian pine, Monestera, dessert rose, cactus of all kinds and any other unusual plant I come across. As my husband will tell you any plant store I see we stop at and I rarely leave there without a plant!
Multiple friends and family have told me I should share my knowledge of plants. Since I am definitely an introvert and enjoy spending more time with plants than people I decided to start a blog. I have read many books, attended multiple workshops, seminars and classes. Also I have had years of trial and error with allot more success than failures!
